Organic Farming Research Foundation Updated:03/2021

Founded in 1990, the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) is a leading champion of organic farmers and the research necessary to advance organic systems. OFRF is known for its distinguished research, education, and advocacy programs, and for our long-time leadership in the U.S. organic movement. Our primary goal is to increase the number of organic farmers and acreage in the United States, through our long-standing and exclusive focus on the scientific research needed to enable the success of organic and transitioning farmers. Our vision is a future where organic farming and practices are the leading form of agriculture.

OFRF grants have lasting impacts on organic farming knowledge and the lives of farmers and researchers. Overall, OFRF seed grant funding has advanced scientific knowledge and improved the practices, ecological sustainability and economic prosperity of organic farming. OFRF plays crucial role in advancing the careers of young scientists, responding to the primary needs of organic farmers, and leveraging additional funding from state and federal agencies.
