Kootenai Environmental Alliance Updated:10/2021

Mission

To conserve, protect and restore the environment, with a particular emphasis on the Idaho Panhandle and the Coeur d'Alene basin.

Founded in 1972, the Kootenai Environmental Alliance (KEA) is the oldest non-profit conservation organization in Idaho. The KEA believes an informed community is essential to conservation efforts and holds a monthly KEA Happy Hour where people can enjoy a drink while listening to a diverse array of experts discuss conservation and environmental issues affecting Northern Idaho. The organization has also helped organize the area's first charitable Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and works with private landowners to restore water quality on Fernan, Hayden, and Coeur d'Alene lakes.
