Idaho Forest Stewardship Program Updated:06/2015

The program is a means for the Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) to provide technical and educational assistance to help family forest owners improve the environmental qualities and economic benefits of their woodland. Funding for the program comes from the USDA Forest Service to IDL. The annual amount Idaho receives is based primarily on the number of private forestlands covered by a Forest Stewardship Plan. The program recognizes landowners’ conservation ethics and provides information for long-term stewardship and promoting sustainable forestry on private lands.
