Power Soil and Water Conservation District Updated:03/2020

The Power Soil and Water Conservation District was organized in 1948. The Snake River is the dominant water feature. Rockland Valley primary land use consists of dry farming and cattle ranching, while lands west of the Snake River are predominantly irrigated.

Mission

  • Make available technical and financial assistance for improved erosion control for non-irrigated cropland.
  • Monitor and advise NRCS of areas in the Power SCD that need further attention to meet Food Security Act obligation.
  • Promote and provide information to improve control of noxious weeds on both public and private lands
